WHO WE ARE

Bellevue Church of Christ (BCOC) is a growing group of Jesus followers just east of Seattle in Bellevue, WA. Located in one of the most beautiful and fast-growing areas of the country, the Pacific Northwest is also one of the most un-churched areas, which lends itself to an exciting opportunity to reach the lost for Christ! 

BCOC was started in 1956 with a hardy group of 30 believers, moving into our current location just south of downtown Bellevue in 1959, and has operated there continuously ever since. 

Reflecting the population of our surrounding area, BCOC’s members are a delightful mix of races, cultures, ages, and backgrounds. We have a strong Church of Christ, restoration background – a cappella singing, weekly communion, male leadership (elders, pulpit minister).  

Three years ago, after much study, prayer, and discussion, our elders incorporated women serving in our worship services: leading prayer, leading worship/singing, reading scripture, and making announcements. We fervently seek to understand God’s will through scripture, honor God, and bring Him all the glory in whatever we do.

We are committed to being a Great Commission Church, leading people to Jesus in our local community as well as supporting missions around the world.  Many of our members have been on short term international missions and work in local missionary efforts. We are also heavily invested in missionary efforts in Ecuador.

Our senior minister will be retiring after 50+ years in pulpit ministry, and we are looking for the man God has prepared to work with us here in Bellevue.

WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR

We are seeking an evangelistic disciple-making Sr. Minister who:

• Excels in local outreach, relational discipleship and inspires a meaningful and personal worship experience.

• Is an outgoing individual, proactive with a strong work ethic and heart for the lost.

• Is a good listener, speaker, pulpit preacher, and communicator both publicly and personally, who can welcome people from different cultures.

• Is a captivating preacher and storyteller who can bridge the gap between man and God to faithfully grow and mature the church.

We are a small church with a faithful heart who desires to grow. The successful candidate will have the following characteristics.

• The candidate shall be a strong servant leader and evangelistic disciple-maker who is both a visionary and vision implementor.

• He shall be an encouraging person, motivator, and delegator with good organizational skills, with an ability to bridge generations within the church.

• The candidate shall be a strong teacher to both groups and individuals with strong OT & NT Bible knowledge.

• As head of church operations, the candidate shall be good at pastoral needs (e.g., visitation, hospital visits, funerals, weddings, counseling), prayer focused, and a good example of a hospitable person with an outreach mindset.

We prefer the candidate to be a college graduate with a bachelor's degree (Bible preferred) and a minimum of 5 years ministry experience or someone with commensurate experience.

• The candidate must have active experience discipling and disciple-making.

• Significant pulpit preaching experience is preferred.

• The church seeks to utilize the skills and abilities of all members thus the candidate must be open to women serving in the assembly.

• The candidate should be a humble people person and people gatherer who is easy to work with in a team environment and who is respectful, honorable, and acts with high integrity.

Salary will be commensurate with experience.
